 My Chemical Romance

Its now more than 3 years since My Chemical Romance released their third album 'The Black Parade' Their forth album is due for release in the spring of this year. The new album  has yet to be named.
Guitarist Ray Toro is quoted as saying, “I can say, hands down, this is our best record yet. It’s all of the best characteristics of the band finally on one record.” The band have also expressed the view that the fourth album is the purest, most distilled version of their music to date

LOVE LIFE LOVE MUSIC - DANIEL STROTH

This guy is called Daniel Stroth.  You can't see his face but that seems irrelevant on account of his music.  My loves are Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page (and the rest of Led Zeppelin too of course) and also people like Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac fame.
Daniel is playing a song called "Living in Simple Notes". I love it, just up my street, hope you think so too.

LOVE LIFE LOVE MUSIC - ELVIS PRESLEY - LIFE AND TIMES

Elvis Presley - 1935-1977 earned the name of  "The King of Rock and Roll".  He rose from poverty to fame in the mid 1950s, Born in Memphis, Tenesee , the only surviving one of twins.  He was tall, young and extremely attractive and could dance like no one else - much to the delight of his female audience, hence the name "Elvis the Pelvis". But most of all he had a phenomenal  voice.  His sound and style was something totally unique.
Elvis' musical style was a combination of black Rhythm & Blues, country, blues, pop music of the day, and gospel.

Elvis  began making movies in 1956 with the film "Love Me Tender" - acting had been his dream for a long time. Between 1956 and 1961 he was both recording, giving live concerts, and making movies (with the exception of his time in army) and achieved international fame. Other movies from this early period are "Loving You", "Jailhouse Rock", and "King Creole". After returning from army in 1961 he abandoned singing to live audiences and turned exclusively to film making. He was contracted for his filming career - one which it seemed he would have gladly broken in later years.  The 1960s saw Elvis acting in one movie after another ("Flaming Star", "Blue Hawaii", and "Viva Las Vegas").  His films ended up like a mass production, turning them out was almost akin to a factory assembly line. They were poor films, which became almost infantile and boring.  Elvis grew dissatisfied with his acting career and  quit making movies in 1969.

Elvis re-kindled his live concerts again - encouraged by the good response of the TV special aired in 1968 and by the triumphant success of a month-long concert engagement at the Las Vegas International Hotel in 1969.

From 1970 untill his death at 1977 Elvis toured  in concerts all over the United States - around 1,000 concerts total. He also had long engagements in Las Vegas International Hotel every year. He made history with these elaborate shows, flambouyant costumes and  breaking box office records.

Elvis died totally unexpectedly in 1977 from a heart attack, prescription drug abuse being indicated as a cause.
Elvis Presley married Priscilla Beaulieu in 1967 after 7 years of courtship, he met Priscilla while in the forces in Germany.  They had one child, Lisa Marie Presley, born in 1968. They separated in 1972, Priscilla retaining the custody of Lisa Marie.  Althought it always seems there was genuine love between the couple, Priscilla struggled with the life style Elvis had grown accustomed to.
Elvis has sold over 1 billion albums worldwide, has over 100 gold/platinum awards for his singles and albums within the United States and is by far the most popular artist ever. His records, CDs, and movies continue to sell well even today.

There was, of course, another side to Elvis.  He was deeply religious and always felt there was something missing.  He had always missed the brother who died at birth.  He was also a man of great and genuine generosity.  Like most incredibly famous people he was surrounded by hangers on and this surreal lifestyle incurred the same type of lonliness so prevelant amongst the rich and famous.

ELVIS PRESLEY  1935- 1977.  He would have been 75 years of age today had he still been alive.

Enjoy the Video Guys - it has a special meaning for me.
